Key accountabilities involved in this role include:

  • Staff and Volunteers
    • building good working relationships across the charity with volunteers and ambassadors
  • Community and Challenge Fundraising
    • developing an integrated Community and Challenge Fundraising programme at AWF UK
    • account managing key volunteers and supporters to maximise long term engagement and income
    • developing supporter journeys to ensure high quality support for Community and Challenge Fundraisers
    • offering support and advice to individuals seeking to fundraise in aid of AWF UK, including in person, online or via social media
    • managing the 'first point of contact' for all enquiries into the fundraising team
    • developing campaigns and literature to encourage Community and Challenge Fundraising
    • using a variety of ways to communicate with individuals (in person, by telephone and in writing) and negotiating effectively to achieve positive outcomes
    • delivering inspiring talks and presentations
    • setting up and managing a rewarding volunteer programme to support the Community Fundraising programme, including volunteers delivering talks/presentations, literature distribution and green tub programme
    • maintaining records of interaction with donors and volunteers on AWF UK's database
    • effectively evaluating activities so we can learn from experience
    • contributing generously and effectively outside the core role
  • Finance Admin
    • being responsible for financial targets within this area of responsibility
    • ensuring expenditure is controlled in line with the annual budget

  • operate within charity law and data protection legislation and comply with the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Practice
  • maintain and improve professional competence by attending meetings and training sessions and conferences as and when required
  • demonstrate ongoing personal and professional development in accordance with the charity's performance management framework
  • safeguard the Charity's reputation and integrity through an awareness and understanding of AWF UK brand
  • represent AWF UK in a professional manner that engenders trust and loyalty, making the most to maximise awareness of the charity
  • work positively and collaboratively with all AWF UK colleagues (staff and volunteers)
  • comply with all AWF UK policies and procedures

We are looking for someone with the following experience, skills and qualifications:

  • substantial experience of community fundraising in a charity setting
  • excellent account management skills
  • excellent organisational skills
  • substantial experience of working with volunteers
